Our culture values the “you deserve it” and “watch out for #1” attitude. Of course, this kills relationships. Therefore, selflessness gets noticed because it’s very unusual. Christianity is the only religion we’ve found that balances love of God, self, and others. Discipline is a great way to combat selfish tendencies.
