It takes work to cast off shame from our lives. We tend to heap shame on ourselves when we sin or make mistakes. Shame is the thoughts and words that attempt to redefine who we are in light of failure. But that’s not who we are! Honesty and light kill shame and reconnect us with God and our fellows.
