In this episode, I am joined by Dr Elise Lippincott.
 
Elise's shares her experience of being pregnant through medical residency. She also shares her labor and delivery story, and her son's subsequent weeklong stay in the NICU.  She shares the difference in working in the NICU as a doctor and being in the NICU as a mother, and how she knows and is empathetic about how lucky she was to go home with a healthy baby.

We discuss how she decided to be a pediatrician, how it almost chose her in a way. As a pediatrician, Elise emphasizes the importance of finding reliable sources of information for parents (She suggests the website healthychildren.org) and the need for a supportive community.

She also reflects on the lesson's motherhood has taught her, one of which is the importance of flexibility (for example when a birth doesn't follow the plan, or when a toddler doesn't follow the plan).

Finally, she shares the wisdom of self-acceptanc
