You Can Absolutely Ignore Your Body

You can absolutely ignore your body! I did it for decades and got the benefits of pain, tightness, excess body fat, depression, anxiety…and these are just the benefits I experienced. Other people get even more benefit.

 I have been playing around with paying attention to my body and it's definitely been strange in comparison….

 This past weekend it was storming like crazy. With the wind and rain going outside was not an option. My body wanted to move and my house was a mess. So listening to my body I organized my house, made extra space, found things to put into storage, and identified a bunch of stuff to throw away.

 The benefits? Although, I had some e-waste I had to figure out what to do with, but otherwise it was great to have an uplifted living environment and satisfaction of a job well done and free exercise. I even found some lanterns that were hidden away. Just in time as the power went out that night, so I had these lanterns handy to light my home.

 Two days later, there was a break in the rain and I was feeling some stress and emotions coming up. My body was sore and wanted to move and be in nature. So I took my body for a walk to the post office to mail some items.

 On my way back I ran into one of the property managers. I told him about my e-waste challenge and he said that they could take it for me. Wow! Problem solved.

 I've noticed my bodies aches and pains more, and I've seen as an ask for more movement, stretch, and myofascial release (massage or foal roller). So even though I'm noticing more "pain" it's not lasting and my body is feeling stronger, more flexible, and more energetic.

 So even though you can ignore your body, after this experiment, I wouldn't recommend it. I've found listening to my body has actually made my life so much easier. It does take getting out of habit, but to me habit just isn't worth it.
