Elon Musk BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.

Elon Musk has made waves in the business world this week, with Tesla stock jumping nearly 7% on Tuesday after he declared on X that he would return to "spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms." Musk emphasized being "super focused" on X, xAI, and Tesla, mentioning critical technologies rolling out and the upcoming Starship launch. This announcement comes as investors have been concerned about his attention being divided by his government role leading DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency in the Trump administration.

Just days earlier, on May 21, Musk paid a surprise visit to Capitol Hill where he met with Republican members of the Senate Commerce Committee. According to Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska, they discussed energy issues, artificial intelligence, and enhancing competitiveness against China, with Senator Sullivan noting Musk provided "incredible insights on the broader strategic competition."

Earlier this month, on May 13, Musk appeared alongside President Trump at a UNESCO event, further cementing his relationship with the administration. His political activities have been extensive recently, including a controversial March visit to Wisconsin before a pivotal state Supreme Court election, where he handed out $1 million checks to supporters who signed his petition against "activist judges," raising legal questions about election laws.

On the business front, Tesla has faced challenges in Europe, with EU registrations falling for a fourth consecutive month in April. However, analysts at Wedbush suggest the upcoming launch of robotaxis in Austin next month could be the next positive catalyst for Tesla's stock.

The tech mogul has also been engaged in ongoing rivalry with OpenAI's Sam Altman, with reports from April indicating that Altman is planning to launch a social network that could compete with Musk's X platform. This move follows Musk's transformation of Twitter into X and his protection of the platform's data for exclusive use by his AI startup, xAI, which powers his Grok AI service. The rivalry continues to intensify as both executives position themselves as leaders in the artificial intelligence space.
