This week on the podcast is a story of perseverance. In the weeks prior to realizing OHL success with the Sarnia Sting Jordan Hill was cut from Junior B. With most players on that ice not even thinking about the possibility of professional hockey as a future Jordan persevered and was able to not only make the Sarnia Sting that season but become the rookie of the year and extend his hockey career another 12 years, further developing into a coaching career with the Owen Sound Attack.
In our episode we talk about dealing with the adversity of being cut from a team, checking your ego when coming in to higher levels of play, and the trouble of being an athlete with the ability to coast through younger levels before reaching junior or the pros. It is almost more difficult when you are the top player from day one to understand the importance of what a quality work ethic can do for you. Overall this episode gave so much good insight as to what it takes to really create success in sport and isn't that what we are all about??
