In this weeks episode I talk with Tyler Fiddler, a professional hockey player from Calgary Alberta. Tyler talks about his unique path to professional hockey, the experience of participating in an NHL camp with the Arizona Coyotes, professional opportunities that came from his career playing in USports and so much more.
What I really got from this interview with Tyler was the importance of understanding that there is no single path to success. Kids can often grow up thinking that success in a sport is defined simply by playing in one place. Whether that is the NHL for hockey players, NBA for basketball players, MLB for baseball players, etc. Talking with Tyler about the life of a professional hockey player in Europe and the doors that his hockey career has opened for him in terms of building his company, Dominate Hockey in the off-seasons it really shows that going all in and working towards a career in sports can lead to many different and extremely successful opportunities.
How do you set yourself up for similar success?
* Educate yourself on the paths to success in the game
* Go ALL IN - Training, practice, accountability. If you are not getting the opportunities you want, understand that lies with you. Talk to coaches and learn what you need to do better in order to succeed. Then... go out and change it.
Thank you for tuning in! As always, I would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to subscribe & leave a rating / review for the show.
