Welcome to Volume 2 of Elevating the Genre! This is where we follow theme months for a full year. October is Sci-Fi trope month and we kick it off with the mother of all Sci-Fi IP’s: Star Trek (it’s in it’s 50th anniversary and the new show Discovery has dropped).

This new format will allow Dom and Christopher to dig into things on a much deeper level and allow ideas to cross-over from episode to episode. So come along for the ride folks! First up is the Prime Directive, post-capitalist Utopia, techno-babble, and it’s ilk… and Christopher makes up a Star Trek term that he is CONVINCED is a thing… but it is NOT… wait for it… wait for it…

(No, this isn’t it… but this is Patrick Stewart in Lifeforce getting puppetized and drained of blood… fuck you, it’s Halloween… we need this kinda thing.)
