Howdy y’all and welcome to the EEARSS by Alligator Robb Podcast produced by Terrier TV at Titusville High School.

On Season 5, Episode 1 we are joined by Stephanie Johnson, the founder of Rebuilding Hollers. Stephanie shares with us her powerful story of how this organization was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which struck Western North Carolina on September 27, 2024. This catastrophic storm brought record-breaking rainfall, devastating floods, and over 400 landslides across Yancey and Mitchell Counties. More than 7,000 structures were damaged or destroyed, with over 1,400 homes being a total loss. Communities that had stood strong for generations were left in ruins.

Out of this destruction came the spirit of resilience—and Rebuilding Hollers was created. What began as a humble distribution site in a local parking lot has grown into a fully operational, community-based nonprofit dedicated to restoring homes, businesses, farms, and lives.

With her background in banking, commercial contracting, land development, and real estate, Stephanie was uniquely equipped to lead the effort. But even more important is her deep personal connection to the community she calls home. Through Rebuilding Hollers, Stephanie and her team are not just repairing buildings, but also rebuilding hope—one home and one family at a time.

The EEARSS by Alligator Robb Podcast continues to grow, averaging between 3,500 and 7,500 listeners each week, and we are actively seeking sponsors to support the important conversations and outreach we bring to the public.  ⁨
