Christ's resurrection is much more than a postscript to his atoning death on the cross. It is rather God's fourfold proclamation of (1) the deity of Christ, (2) the answerability of all humanity at the final judgement, (3) the purity or righteousness of believers, and (4) their security in eternity. No wonder that Paul preached "Jesus and the resurrection" at Athens.
