James died a martyr but Peter was miraculously delivered by the power of God, but both events were equally God's purpose and equally served the purpose of God (Acts 12:1-19). James became another "seed of the church", while Peter lived to serve and provide by his deliverance a powerful analogy of what happens when anyone is born again.
