Increased microquake swarms do not necessarily predict larger earthquakes but can indicate evolving stress conditions in the crust. Experts continue to stress the importance of earthquake preparedness, especially for communities along major faults like the San Andreas and in the shadow of active volcanoes like Mount Rainier. While most recent US quakes have been minor, continued monitoring will remain essential as seismic activity remains heightened.
