#15 – Secret History of the World Part IV

Part IV of our coverage of Secret History of the world is here. Before getting into the book, we cover some listener emails about the Chris Bledsoe episodes and his encounter with Hathor. In the book we cover the age of heroes and demigods and the gods being unable to interact directly with the planet anymore. We take an aside to talk about a concept called quant suf that we stole from the Brother of the Serpent Podcast. We talk about the tension between survival and morality. We talk about Enoch and the idea that language could negatively impact memory. We cover Orpheus and the authors assertion that he invented math. Dean puts on his skeptic hat to question that assertion. We also cover Zep Tepi and the Sphinx. We talk about the idea that the laws of physics could change over time and the concept of last Thursdayism. It was an interesting ride this time. We hope you enjoy the episode!

• 1440 Newsletter – an email newsletter that highlights and summarizes a number of news stories and provides links to further reading on each story. I like to scan this newsletter every morning to keep abreast of the various goings on in the world. I like it because I can scan it to get a feel for whats going on in a really short amount of time.
• Breaking Points with Krystal & Saagar – These two have left the corporate media world because of the control that is placed on journalists. They built their own show that is funded by subscribers so they aren’t beholden to advertisers. Krystal has a left leaning to her politics and Saagar leans a bit right. It makes for interesting coverage and they don’t conceal their personal biases. You’ll see them cover stories that get buried in the corporate media.

We talked about the idea of quant suf which is a term we stole from the Brothers of the Serpent Podcast. They have a cool glossary page on their website with lots of funny lingo they like to use. They also have an awesome library with links to tons of interesting books. I highly recommend checking out their podcast if you like ours.

Mark Booth mentioned the work of Robert Schoch & Robert Baval. I think he was referring to “Origins of the Sphinx”. I haven’t read it but I added it to my list.

We talked about 3 Body Problem. It’s a new series on Netflix. I’m still only a few episodes in and it’s pretty good so far. I’d recommend giving it a watch if you like sci-fi.  The book on the other hand was fantastic!

AI Fail of the Week

I tried to generate an image showing a centaur kidnapping a bride and GPT tried and failed so many times. It would make a man on a horse. It would make the centaur the bride. It seemed to really struggle with the idea of a centaur. This fail is my favorite though.
