The inaugural event aired on TBS via March 27th, 1988 by competing against WrestleMania IV (4). Sting challenged Ric Flair for the NWA Championship. Dusty Rhodes joined forces with Hawk & Animal ( The Road Warriors) to face Ivan Koloff & The Powers of Pain ( Barbarian & WarLord.) plus Jim Cornette’s Midnight Express defended their NWA U. S. Tag Titles vs. The Fantastics, Barry Windham, & Lex Luger challenge 4 Horsemen members-Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard/ NWA Tag-Team Champs. It was a historic event. Relive the original wrestling wars between Jim Crockett Promotions & Vince McMahon when NWA battles WWF now WWE regarding 1980’s wrestling boom.
