in celebration of Internation Women's Day (8 March) we have a short podcast giving a reading of Ursula Le Guin's The Princess.
The Princess was a keynote address given in January 1982 opening a workshop conference of the Portland branch of the National Abortion Rights Action League in the US. it offers a thoughtful and powerful deepening of attitudes towards abortion, one of the fundamental rights of women, a right to control over our own bodies, a subject thoroughly appropriate to reflect on and honour at the time of the year when we not only celebrate women but also give attention to the fight of women against sexism, misogyny and the patriarchy.
