Supply and Demand

As technology progresses certain parts of life become easier - or at least more convenient. Voice control has become highly accurate and intuitive, AI (albeit with its pros and cons as explored by Drew and Sam on a previous episode) has advanced to extremely impressive levels, and mobile phones are now far more capable than vehicles that went to space previously! Everybody is so busy these days that we’ve all had to master the art of multitasking, and when it comes to entertainment, things like On Demand, Catchup TV, Box Office viewing, streaming sites, YouTube, podcasts and more, all mean that we can either do two things simultaneously, or keep things on hold until we have time to focus on them.

Actually, Drewling Samantics is a good example, as having the facility to download, listen later, and re-visit means that followers and fans don’t have to necessarily tune in when the boys first release an episode. But equally the ability in general to watch or listen at a later date, or whenever suits, can mean that less people may be tuning in live to watch “normal” TV, radio could have less listeners than ever before, and attendance figures at cinemas are potentially declining. So in today’s podcast episode the chaps explore these advances and how they can have mainly positive, but also a few negative effects on the performance industry too.

Tune in now, later, or whenever is best for you, and whether that is 5 minutes, 5 days, or 5 months after the official publish date, you’re sure to enjoy!
