Success is but a Whisker Away
No, Drewling Samantics hasn’t taken on a new look, but this week Drew and Sam are chatting about how performers often need to go the extra mile, and sometimes even substantially change things up, when taking on a new character.
Getting into a role can require adding a few extra touches to complete the look, or other adjustments to suit the direct casting stipulations, or equally the audience’s perception, of the part an actor is playing. Then, once appearance is dealt with, other skills may be needed too to achieve the realism and depth that are demanded more and more by roles undertaken. But where do you start? And just how far are you prepared to go? Dedication, a visit to the barbers, a new diet, and even a driving license, are a small selection of the items up for discussion this week as the boys reflect on some of their own job-specific changes. So what’s the result? Well thankfully it’s the usual welcome blend of funny stories, serious discussion, and the unabridged entertaining honesty that comes from everyone’s favourite podcasting pair!
