Without radical responsibility, nothing can change in your life.
For most people, radical responsibility is really just a way to cast blame. Do that long enough and shame is bound to tag along for the ride and eat away at your self-esteem, self-confidence, and stress you out even more. All of which makes the capacity to change even more distant from you than it already is.
I’m asking you to try something different.
Why?
Because too often people default to the standard of beating up on themselves and berating themselves hard when they don’t live up to their own expectations of themselves. This traps you deep within stressful thought-emotion loops that become self-perpetuating and self-defeating (so say the least!)
Let’s try a new strategy, a more effective and sustainable one, shall we?
I’m asking you to consider radical responsibility with fierce self-compassion and self-respect. I’m asking you to consider how you HAD to act or react the way you did given the state of your stressed brain and stressed nervous system. I’m asking you to consider all the forces that’ve shaped you up until now and how they’re evident in the behaviors, actions and results in your life right now. I’m asking you to recognize all the ways that your actions and reactions actually make perfect sense.
It’s with radical responsibility– the kind that is steeped in deep intelligence, wisdom, and love —that you’ll become the source of change you're truly wanting to be.
This episode feels a bit like a love letter….because it is. I love you and I’m here to give you the skills of real change so you can become who you truly want to be—while ditching the unnecessary load of stress that’s weighing you down and keeping change seemingly always just out of reach.
