Dani talks about how her role as a Chartered Accountant in a big Corporate PLC saw her working very long hours, missing out on seeing her children and finding herself exhausted at the weekends. She shares how being frustrated one too many times with the fact much of this was caused by internal politics, constant reshuffles and vacancies not being filled, she made the decision 3 years ago to become self-employed and set up Wainwright Consulting. Dani chats to Tina about the importance of knowing your numbers in business but how many business owners are put off finance and acounting by jargon and the attitude of industry professional towards them.

Dani is a senior finance professional with experience leading in all sizes of businesses from SMEs to FTSE 100 PLCs, and sector experience in marketing, retail, utilities, various tech, gaming and property. She began her Portfolio career to give ambitious SMEs access to the highest level of commercial and financially savvy support, as well as to gain more control over her own work/life balance. Having gained so much personally from the transition from Corporate to Portfolio, Dani is now not only passionate about helping SMEs thrive, but also about helping other senior finance professionals access this lifestyle.
