EP.14 - Hakim Budzaku (President of Shoqata Atdhetare)

How and why do Albanians stay connected to their culture? In this episode, we spoke with the youngest President of Shoqata Atdhetare Dibra (one of the oldest existing Albanian organizations in America).

As a second-generation Albanian in America, Hakim has been inspired by the stories of his grandfather. While Hakim and his parents were born in America, he discusses the importance of creating a vision of an interconnected community that serves one another. He is positive, genuine, clear-minded, and courageous: exactly what we need for future Albanian leadership.

A question we often get from Albanians back home is, “Why are Albanians abroad so connected to their roots? Why do they still care?”
