By 16, he was incarcerated for murder and witness tampering, ultimately serving 28 years, 6 months, and 5 days behind bars.
During his time in prison, Hector refused to let his circumstances define him. He earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences and used his time to grow and prepare for a brighter future. Since his release in May, Hector has already begun working as a Youth Counselor at Rising Ground, a youth detention center in Queens, where he’s committed to guiding others away from the mistakes he made.
