Have you ever had an expectation of someone to do something and they didn’t follow through? Maybe someone had an expectation of you. It led to blame, judgement, disagreement, and ultimately a fight? Maybe you had an expectation of yourself and things didn’t quite turn out the way you wanted them and it lead to guilt, shame, or the feeling of failure.
Expectations are both good and bad. In regards to relationships, expectations in relationships can be toxic and ruin peoples chance with a good relationship, and lead to unhappiness, misery, and a life of disappointment.
We have 2 choices in relation to how we interact with others people: Create an expectation or create an agreement.
