Through years of dieting, you’ve developed strong urges to binge. Continuously acting on your binge urges creates a habit in your brain. The urges you experience is why you feel compelled to go into the pantry to have something sweet even though you’re full from dinner.
So you need to not give into them in order to eliminate them. Every urge you don’t give into, is helping you become less impulsive and eventually your urges will stop popping up.
