Today is a day to celebrate. Not only is it my 40th birthday, it is also my 100th podcast episode! When I published my book several years ago, I felt that I could reach out to many people to share my obsession with living a healthy life. I was thrilled to have a book out in the world, BUT two years ago I realized I wanted to offer more. Launching the Direction Not Perfection podcast gave me the ability to reach out to an unlimited number of people to share my insight and professional advice.
It also gave me the opportunity to share interviews with other professionals and everyday individuals who had valuable insight to impart. It has been soul filling for me, to be a regular, positive voice in people’s ear and to help keep them accountable to their dreams.
A legacy is a part of a person that lives on long after they are gone. It molds the pathways to the future that influence our decisions in life. As I celebrate my milestone birthday and podcast, I reflect on the legacy that I want to leave my family when I am no longer here (God willing, at some far distant date in the future). I asked my husband, Nick, to join me for this podcast. I want to be recorded together so our kids have the sound of our voices as we speak about relationships, personality differences, communication, grace, permission and enjoying each other as friends and loving spouses.
Be a little fly on the wall today and indulge in some inspiration and giggles as I interview Nick and chat about how we have grown through marriage and having kids, in our professions and in our relationship with God. It is a legacy we can be proud of!
