With each episode of Diddie Wah Diddie: Blues City, Georgia-based
blues phenom Jontavious Willis interviews one of his blues heros. For
our second installment, we are sharing Jontavious' conversation with
blues harmonica trailblazer Paul Oscher. Oscher served in the Muddy
Waters Blues Band from 1967 until 1972 and remained a fixture in
Chicago's blues scene until his passing in April 2021. Jontavious and
Paul recorded this conversation in 2020 and discussed Oscher's early
days playing accordion, his attempts to emulate Little Walter, some of
the larger-than-life personalities that crossed his path, his harps of
choice and much more. It's a great tribute to a true blues hero.
Hosted by Jontavious Willis and produced by the Fretboard Journal
