A Simple Example of Giving Purpose to Pain

My boy woke up with leg pain in the middle of the night. Assuming it's just growing pains, we massaged his legs, got him some Tylenol, and let him stay in our room for the rest of the morning. The next day, armed with the knowledge that the pain was him growing, he ran around the house measuring himself and telling us how big he got.
