Church Zombies

This message started its life out as a 5-part series. This however makes it difficult for those who want the whole bite all at once. Well, so here it is five to one.

A.W. Tozer stated, “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95% of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church 95% of what they did would stop, and everyone would know the difference.”

This is not a message about the Holy Spirit but about what happens to the church when He is not running the show. There ae several other points that I intend to make to ultimately demonstrate why church zombies exist. If you have been with me a bit you know the message titles, although sometimes a bit strange, usually facilitates a mental data-dump whereby I can draft up a message just on the title alone. I believe God has left my personality intact while also requiring me to teach and thus equip the saints for the work of Ministry: 

Eph 4:11-16 - 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [a]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
