Welcome to another insightful Quick Chat episode, where we are joined by Lena Cebula, a survivor of human trafficking. Lena's early life was marred by dysfunction and adversity. She was trafficked internationally as a teenager, enduring unimaginable hardships. However, Lena's story takes a profound turn when she escapes this life and finds herself in Canada, a place where she encounters something entirely new and transformative— human rights. For Lena, the concept of human rights was an entirely foreign one, and something that became the catalyst for her healing journey. She began to discover that, as a person, as a human being, she had inherent rights and worth. In this episode, Lena generously shares her experiences, the pivotal role played by her husband, a man who never gave up on her, and how she is navigating the challenges of raising her own children while breaking the generational cycles of trauma.
