In this episode we had the privilege of speaking with Mr. Steven Coppinger about the first Arkansas State Trooper to ever be killed in the line of duty- Algin Sidney Pavatt. Steven is a retired Arkansas State Police Captain who also served at the Attorney General's Office in Little Rock and provided security for Arkansas Governors Jim Guy Tucker and Mike Huckabee. After retiring Steven added yet another title to that long roster- author. His recently released book "AWOL at Crook's Cabin- The Murder of Arkansas State Trooper Sidney Pavatt" tells the story of the Natural State's first fallen trooper. Steven put ten years' worth of research into the book, and the result is a masterful and incredibly detailed telling of Pavatt's story. Join us as we discuss this fascinating and tragic case with Mr. Coppinger.
