Hi everyone and welcome back to the dark history podcast hope everyone is well I’m Rob your host as always. in the mid 1840 an un wanted visitor came to the Irish shores , this visitor brought the country to its knees and their overlord did absolutely nothing to help. The visitor caused so many people to die and even more to leave. A visitor which would bring one of the worse famines of the 19th century and change the destinies of London and Dublin a like, today in episode 14 we will talk about phytophthora infestans or in English the blight and how it wiped so many people off of Irelands census.
