Chinese military drills around Taiwan continue for a second day

Taiwan is on alert as China continues large-scale military exercises around the self-governing island for the second day. Beijing says the war games are designed to practice precision strikes on Taiwan's key ports and energy facilities. On Tuesday the Chinese military surrounded the self-ruled island with planes and warships to practice blockading Taiwan, which Beijing considers part of China.
