Gospel of Mark Chapter 6 - Part 1

The one word that describes the opening of sixth chapter of Mark, is Contrast.  In the second half of Mark chapter five we witness the faith of Jairus and woman with the issue of blood.  Jesus responded to their faith, and both of their needs were met.   As  Jesus visits his home town, the reaction of the people are in direct contrast to the examples in the previous chapter.  They approach him with skepticism and unbelief and judgement.  They present several questions about Jesus, that help us identify their heart and motives.  How are you approaching Jesus, or the Word of God?
