Kids are just getting after it with activities and loving it. I think Lou Reed's song Beginning of a Great Adventure is pretty much spot on. I mean, they make my life a series of neverending tasks. Yeah, I might be taking away something different from that song. The message to me is that rearing children is the beginning of a great adventure...well, if you care at all that is.
Regardless, they're the best thing I've been involved in and I love my time with them.
I did snag a few new records this past holiday weekend. Combat Rock by The Clash might be a sore subject for punk rock fans from the 70s and 80s, but I love it. My uncle had the cassette when I was young and it was played quite a lot. It's a winner in my book. Sturgill Simpson's Metamodern Sounds in Country Music is a winner as well. I love this album.
You can see these two along with some other miscellaneous pics in the photo album here. Yeah, I'm partaking in alcoholic beverages on a leaner basis than I had been before. I've got this. Couldn't pass up Ranch Water (my new Summer drink), Teremana Añejo, and a mezcal shot with my homeboy Mikey though, could I?
Loving Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. I understand the gripes, but wah wah and boo-hoo. It's a fricking Star Wars show ya babies. Stranger Things Season 4 is pretty amazing as well. Can't wait to finish Part 1.
Got a new novel to read, but haven't really started. I'm jazzed about it though. The Peacekeeper has a really interesting setting. I will let you know more as I read on.
Same old podcasts. Nothing new to see here. Move along.
I do have a few parting words as well. They're about something that has been on all our minds recently.
See ya next week!
