On this episode, Cyrus is joined by the amazing Guneet Monga, renowned film producer (Pagglait, The Lunchbox, Masaan) to talk about her illustrious career making some of the most critically acclaimed original movies in recent years. Cyrus and Guneet talk about Guneet's organisation Indian Women Rising (IWR) - a cinema collective that aims to discover, promote, amplify, and distribute women directed movies. Cyrus and Guneet also get into the sexism that subconsciously exists in society, receiving the 2nd highest civilian French honour - Chevalier dans I’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters), and lots more. They also get into Guneet's journey, how she got into filmmaking and film production, how she got financing for her first movie from her neighbour, coming to Mumbai and asking anyone she could if they had a story for a script, her first film 'Say Salaam India' with Milind Soman, how the 2007 Cricket World Cup affected the movie, screening the movie in schopls to make the money back, and tons tons more.
