Clive Phillips is a former British Army Officer who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
In late 2019 Clive was diagnosed with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy an ultra-rare neurological condition affecting motor function in the peripheral nerves. After starting regular treatment that keeps the worst symptoms temporarily at bay Clive was determined to use his skills and passion for adventure to take advantage of raise awareness of MMN and funds for research in to the condition and founded the Making the Most of Now project.
In May 2025, Clive and a team of fellow British military veterans set off to ride 3200km around France, following in the wheel tracks of the first British team to enter the Tour de France in 1955. Chris Sidwells caught up with Clive during a rest day in Avignon to talk about the ride and MMN.
