Have you stopped apologizing yet? What do I mean by that?

Well, thanks to Mel Robbins, I learned this trick a few years back. I want you to think about how many times it is that you say, "Sorry". How many times are you apologizing when it doesn't warrant an apology?

If you're like most... then you probably apologize for being late, for accidentally bumping into someone, or apologizing before or after you ask someone to do a favor.

Remember, our words hold so much power, and when we apologize for every little thing, we remove the deep meaning of apologizing. Think about it. If you say, "I'm sorry" for the littlest things all of the time...what happens when you really need to ask for forgiveness? My guess is that person won't receive it as well.

More than that, we give away our own power when we apologize. Instead...try saying "Thank you."

Running late: "Thank you so much for waiting."

Bump into someone: "Excuse me, are you alright."

Do you see how this small shift will allow you to keep your power, make it about the other person, and hold the integrity of the meaning of "sorry" for when you need it most?

Dive in as we talk more on this topic.
