030 | Something's Off - Now What?

So, something has been off the last few days and I want to dig deep with you. With everything going on in the world, with family, kiddos, safety, money, relationship, racial injustice... the energy overall can feel heavy. 

Anyone else feeling this?

Just to be clear, I want to let you know that whatever you're feeling is perfect. Whether that's good or bad, your feelings are trying to tell you something, to make you become aware, to wake you up. Stop with the negative self-talk. Your feelings are just a part of your human experience. They do not define you!

If you need to shake things up, here's what I do. I pray it's helpful for you! 

1. Journaling - write it out! Let yourself free flow write, without editing. Let whatever emotions arise come out on paper. Don't hide any pain, any sadness, any anxiousness. Getting it out let's you release whatever you're holding on to! You'll be surprised how healing this can be! (Look up prompts, set a timer, ask yourself a question).

2. Get outside. Get in nature! - Connecting with nature is grounding for you. Seriously, it will help you get back into alignment and your energies may be off. When you are outside, especially barefoot, you pull negative energies from the ground to 

3. Movement - Just move your body! Go for a walk, go for a run, dance, yoga, shake it off! Bonus...this is healhty too. 🥰

4. Talk it out! - Speak with a therapist, or a close friend or family member who can hold space for you. It helps me to verbally process because sometimes I don't even know how I'm feeling until the words start falling out of my mouth. 

5. Jam your favorite songs! - I sing my heart out to my favorite songs and playlists when I'm in the feelings and I instantly feel better! Dance it out even! Talk about an energy booster. 

6. Distract Yourself - Feel what you're feeling. Forgive yourself for those negative feelings & get into action. Work on your side hustle, wrap up that project that you've been putting off. Be cautious to avoid the feelings...just distract yourself enough to alter your mood for the positive. 

7. Rest - Listen to your body. Listen to your feelings. And just take a moment to chill the F out!! 💛

Bonus: Meditation + Breath Work can help, but is harder when I'm in the thick of emotions. I will usually do this once my emotions have leveled out.
