Evan is a husband, father of 3 boys, violent crimes detective specializing in domestic violence, 35 years teaching and studying martial arts, retired marine and has his masters degree in administration and bachelors degree in psychology. You can imagine the wisdom and powerful perspective we get to hear on this subject!

Evan was my first martial arts (Kenpo) instructor and I have been inspired by him ever since- and today was no exception. Listen how he explains his evolution through his career and  theories surrounding the inner journey to wholeness, where accepting the nature of the self and discovering where violence was perpetrated by ourselves against ourselves is our actual place of weakness and reclamation.

Listen to the end to hear his analogy of walking on “the path” and “having a place to hang principles of discipline” only to discard them at the perfect moment.

From stories about boot camp to teaching Jiu Jitsu to his sons, why he’s changed the context he puts out in the world including his YouTube channel, his visualizations in meditation and experience on the force there is no shortage of thought provoking messages and ideas to ponder on that apply to all of our understanding on our own journey. This was definitely one of my favorite podcasts and so fun to see so many things come full circle in both our lives!
