On August 12, 2014, at a luxury resort in Bali, Heather Mack and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer loaded a suitcase into the trunk of a waiting taxi. They told the driver that they would be back soon after completing the check-out process. However, after waiting for two hours, they never returned.
