Creatives of Colour began last year out of sheer frustration with how little UK TV has progressed with using people of colour in front of and especially behind the camera. Very few of us are making the decisions which leads to content being made about us but not for us and certainly not by us.
At the beginning of 2020 I finally organised a London meet-up where creatives of colour from all over the creative landscape where able to get together air things off their chest and connect with people they wouldn’t have necessarily been able to do so.
With the Coronavirus lockdown I wasn’t able to put on any more events so decided to do a series of online zoom workshops.
This podcast series is the culmination of all of those workshops. They’ve been edited down and audio/tech issues resolved... where possible!
Sometimes I forgot to press record, sorry! so some episodes, will start mid-sentence…there’s a reason why I’m usually behind the recorder and not in front of it!
Creatives of Colour run by one person, Saima Ferdows, as a hobby, you can find me on Twitter at @SaimaFerdows.
