How Being the Best Version of You Helps Others

According to James, the Full Potential Movement is comprised of individuals who have made the commitment to live their lives at a “level 10″ physically, mentally, spiritually, socially, emotionally, financially and environmentally.

The impetus for founding the moment is James’ belief that happy, healthy, balanced individuals make for happy, healthy, balanced societies.

On the Full Potential website he flat out writes:

“If every person were operating at their full potential, the world would be like a heaven on Earth.”

The Full Potential Movement empowers you, the individual, to not only affect positive changes in yourself but in your environment – which, as James points out, includes your family and community as well as the earth as a whole.

The first step is to develop a vision of what it would look like for you to live your life performing your personal best in each of the seven areas mentioned above. Once you have that vision, take an honest assessment of where you are today. Next, jot down ideas of what you need to do or not do to increase your level.

Don’t beat yourself up or get in judgmental conversations with yourself, just note where you are currently and do a quick brainstorm of small, simple changes that you can take to push you forward.

The key word here is small changes or as James calls them “micro-commitments”.

Pick three micro-commitments and focus on them everyday. As you successfully incorporate each into your habits and routines, pick another one. The changes may seem small but they quickly build on each other and soon you will start to notice improvements in yourself and in your life. Through this stacking process of micro-commitments you are building the foundation to take on bigger commitments.

James suggests focusing on the areas closest to you first: physical, mental, and spiritual. While this might seem selfish, it actually gives you the personal strength and confidence to engage at a higher level socially emotionally, financially and environmentally.
