Meal planning can be challenging whether you're a family of 2 to 8! It's tough! Never fear, simple meal planning is here! Now you have to be smiling! :0) 


Take time with these seven steps and watch your time in the kitchen decrease by up to half! Seriously...more time away from the cookin'.


The K.I.S.S. ~ Seven Steps to Successful Meal Planning!



  1. What does everyone like? Have each member of the family make a list as to what they like to eat. Make it fun and a game. Ask things like, what do you eat at your friend's house, at school, at work, on spring break, at camp, with the "guys".

  2. Highlight/Find the similarities on ALL the lists.

  3. Make a MASTER list of all the LIKES. This is the list you will work from every week. Include categories like main course/proteins, vegetables, starches/breads, dessert, fruits.

  4. From the Master List, create your weekly meals by using the recipes YOU know how to cook.

  5. Choose ONE new recipe a week to introduce to the family; however, remember to use the Master list of LIKES.

  6. Schedule leftovers and night outs. Maybe Wednesday and Sunday are good leftover nights. And Friday is a night out. Do what works for your family.

  7. Rinse and Repeat from #3, the MASTER LIST of LIKES.
