So many of our words uttered during the holiday season bring Christmas to life. We sing songs filled with words of wonder and hope. We repeat scriptures that leave a mark on our hearts. We read cards that say what's hard to put into words.

Yet the one word heard most often is "gift"!
A tiny word, a mighty power.
You can be out shopping checking that list twice as everyone else is checking it too making sure that all the GIFTS are nice.
You go to a party and what do you bring? A gift.
What is it with this tiny word that consumes our actions yet distracts our hearts?
What would your list look like if God asked you to write it down?
- A better job
- Patience
- Money to pay the bills
- Family vacation
- New car
And I wonder what Mary would have given Him the year she gave birth to His Son.
- Patience
- Discernment
- Grace
- Hope
- Love
Gift is defined as a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present.
At Christmas we give gifts.
The best gift ever given came from God.
The K.I.S.S. ~ A tiny gift, a mighty power! "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!" ~ 2 Corinthians 9:15This Christmas, are you still hurrying about looking for those few last-minute surprises?
It's okay if you are. I too go looking for those little somethings to add in the mix of the bigger gifts.
But I want to challenge you. What gift do you want to receive from God?
And in return, what gift do you want to give God?
The reason for the season is bigger than you can imagine. But the impact starts with your heart.
