1430 Is There Value in Self Doubt?

Our minds have a way of playing tricks on us. Whether you're celebrating the holidays or living your day to day life, there will always be times of self doubt. But is there value in self doubt?

Seems a little backwards. Something positive from something negative. Something that focuses on the good of something that's not working.

Mind blown with much confusion.

How can anything good come from self doubt?

Imagine for a moment what the shepherds thought when the angels visited them in the deep, dark night. Surely they questioned their sanity and even the journey ahead. Is this for real?

And what about the wise men? In a distant city, news came to them of a baby born, the Savior of the world. I'm sure they questioned if it was really true.

Then we cannot forget Mary. She carried the Christ child to term. It wasn't just days she lived with this; it was months upon months.

Value can be found in self doubt when the focus is not the doubt. It's the journey God has bestowed upon you.

You can find value in self doubt when you find the reason in your season.

Getting yourself caught up in the negative will only develop more negativity. Instead search for the truth God is unveiling.

Find the reason in your season.

1. Ask God for help. You are not alone. Doubt can drive you closer to God. And yes, unfortunately it takes doubt to get us to our knees and ask for God's help.
2. Seek the truth. Doubt comes when the focus is on what you don't know. And what you don't know, you become fearful of stirring up more questions than answers.
3. Knock on the door of faith. When life hangs in the balance, we want to run and hide; go for what's comfortable.
