Voluntarily participation but forced too, lol

We send our kids to daycare, Pre k or grade school. Some of us pay cash money for it, hard earned money. Schools say they have voluntary events but bombard you with buying items, food and treats. What do you do with the money I give you even for the weeks your closed?!?
