Kids aren't kids forever

Parents yelling, being petty and spiteful to each other only rob the shared child of peace. Parenting is about including yourself but also getting over yourself in the process. A lot of men and women aren't ready for that. Until you deal with your child trauma if you have any or your expectations you probably won't make if past the infant, toddler and elementary stage of your child growing up without arguments, longs texts, phone calls, pop ups and maybe even family court. Its amazing to me how you could be around a person for over a decade and experience them on a complete different level as a parent that makes it ugly.
