This question is another of The God of Play’s essential questions: which game shall we play? But the word “game” has a more expansive meaning than the one we usually think of. All play involves playing games because all play involves rules. Even the most seemingly lawless games have rules that are moving, chang- ing and adapting extremely quickly. So to ask, “What game shall we play?” is merely to ask, “What kind of structured play shall we engage in?”
