It's Episode 10 of the Corner of Hope and Wellness! It seemed like a good time for me to be put in the Hot Seat - This week I'll share about my own personal journey as well as why I created the podcast. Fun fact about this episode - before edits, Interviewer Amy Axtell wished me a Happy Double Nickels Birthday at 55 seconds of the interview.
About Carrie:
I have reinvented myself over and over - I'm fearful everytime and I do it anyway. I've been a waitress, administrator, therapist, builder of a children/adolescent integrated health care unit, sold hand made cards and art pieces, educator, coach, mentor, actress, performer, producer, writer, public speaker, certified training specialist and a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid for the National Council of Mental Wellbeing. (and I'm sure this is only 30% of it).
I'm a mental health advocate and live with depression, anxiety and overcame a 15 year eating disorder and body dysmorpia. The things that really light me up: creating, animals, my Jazz musician husband, friends and family, gardening, lifting people up and allowing them to see themselves as AWESOME, Abraham Hicks, plantbased food & cooking and OrangeTheory. I am an introver with fabulous extrovert skills.
