EP 59: 12/13/23 - Police Are Required To Work 100 Hours Of Overtime In A Week's Time

Is is right to require police officers to work overtime? Yes and no! Yes, because unfortunately police departments are short handed, but the work must go on which demands more of current officers. No, because of the nature of their work. As in many other jobs, when you're tired you aren't at your greatest performance. As police officers, being tired means you might be less tolerable of people, and you will make irrational decisions. It's not safe, especially to require 100 hours of overtime in a week. What are police departments doing about this?
