On today’s episode…I  interview Joy Ike. Joy is a renowned singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia, PA. Joy began writing and playing songs in college when music was merely a hobby. Eventually, hobby turned into passion. In 2008, she left her day job to pursue a full-time career in music. Since then, Joy has toured all over the country. Her music has also been featured on radio stations, such as NPR. Suffice it to say, leaving her 9-5 paid off very well. Hang with us as we chat about her recent single, “All The Time In The World” highlighting the importance of community in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We also discuss adjusting to new norms, staying creative, and processing America’s racial tensions as musicians.
